The Barn

Dated from 1741, the barn was built with limestone blocks issued from local Causse region.
It was a two story building that included a sheepfold, a stable, a workshop, and hay storage.
The stone arches still bear the traces left by the millers when sharpening their tools.
Due to the passing of time, the frame started bending dramatically and the roof threatened to collapse as the walls started moving backward.
In order to preserve this testimony of local history and architectural heritage, Jean-Yves Laporte decided to restore this barn.
Thanks to a talented architect friend and experienced local craftsmen, the barn has been transformed into a comfortable high class house: beautiful spaces, contemporary and natural design.

The Barn is the first classified cottage ***** to the west of the Aveyron (National classification of Furnished Accomodations).

At the ground floor

Convivial and spacious (about 100 sq.m) the living room has southern exposure and opens onto a terrace and garden through stone arches.

It includes:

- A dining room with a large wood table where 12 guests can comfortably sit.
- A fully equipped open kitchen (with refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, crockery, and all other kitchen equipment).
- A large relaxing zone with leather couches and LED TV 123 cm (international channels).

At the same level:

On the same floor there are independent toilet facilities (adapted for handicapped people) and a housekeeping room with washing machine, dryer, iron, ironing table and cleaning accessories.
